About The Position

Five Below is seeking part-time Sales Associates to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales. The role is at the center of store activity and involves helping customers, keeping merchandise organized and well-stocked, and providing efficient checkout experiences. Associates contribute to store and company goals while fostering a positive, energetic workplace and reflecting Five Below’s purpose and values.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
Comfortable using technology or willing to learn, including cash registers, handheld devices, and mobile devices.
Good communication skills and the ability to engage with customers.
Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
Able to frequently climb and descend ladders, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, and move across the sales floor and to and from the stock room.
Able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist them, and manage multiple customer interactions efficiently.
Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, making recommendations, and using suggestive selling.
Stay informed about product availability and communicate current store events, promotions, and special activities to customers.
Address customer concerns using product knowledge and offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
Inform management in a timely manner about restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback.
Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
Operate the cash register and assist customers across the sales floor.
Retrieve, stock, and put away merchandise, including using ladders and handling items weighing up to 25 pounds.
