About The Position

As a Retail Associate at Columbia Sportswear Company, you serve as a brand ambassador and help create exceptional in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You use problem-solving and sales abilities to answer questions, recommend products, and support customer service and teamwork. Associates also help keep products available and stores appealing, assist with checkout, and support the Store Leadership team in furthering the company’s mission of connecting active people with their passions. This is a seasonal position with a flexible retail schedule that may change in response to seasonal and location-specific business needs.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have 2 years or less of experience in a position or specialization.
• Be able to operate inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools.
• Communicate clearly with others.
• Be available to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
• No specific education is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions or issues about product features, benefits, and availability.
• Engage with consumers to understand their needs and preferences; demonstrate and explain merchandise and suggest suitable options.
• Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations.
• Perform cash register transactions, including sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program connections, accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, handle, replenish, and process incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently to contribute to store profitability.
