About The Position

The Famous Footwear Sales Associate provides a welcoming store environment and engaging customer experiences, helping customers find shoes that meet their needs and deliver the right fit. The role contributes to store sales goals, supports team culture, shares knowledge of footwear trends, and helps keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop.

The associate also handles daily retail operations such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory. They follow company policies and procedures, communicate with teammates, welcome feedback, and support coworkers’ training and development when needed. Other responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs; overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and provide attentive, engaging customer service.
• Recommend shoes and styles that suit customers’ needs and help ensure a proper fit.
• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and merchandise easy to shop according to company standards.
• Review store performance and contribute to sales goals with accountability and urgency.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to ensure understanding.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and pursue professional development.
• Support an inclusive, positive work environment and help teammates with training and development when needed.
• Work overtime when required to meet business needs.
