Full Time - Sales Associate - Flooring - Opening
About The Position
The Sales Associate works in the Flooring department at Lowe’s, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for home improvement projects. The role involves answering questions, assisting with product selection and merchandise, keeping shelves stocked, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing department merchandise to meet customer needs. Associates may be cross-trained in other store areas and guide customers through shopping or checkout. Department responsibilities may vary. The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the role.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or lift over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise for customer needs, such as cutting or bundling products where applicable to the department.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
