About The Position

The Sales Associate role involves providing friendly, outgoing, and professional customer service, assisting customers, and resolving concerns in a fast-paced environment. The position requires self-motivation, multitasking abilities, dependable attendance, and punctuality. Responsibilities include accurately processing customer transactions, suggestive selling, following cash control procedures, and maintaining store cleanliness. Additionally, the role involves stocking shelves, coolers, and displays, adhering to food preparation and sanitation guidelines, operating food service equipment, and monitoring safe food temperatures. Safety procedures, including fuel dispensing safety standards, must also be followed.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors, and management; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, make correct change, and accurately complete shift reports.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to carry trash containers and lift contents into exterior bins; occasional use of step ladders.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, squat, reach, and perform overhead reaching as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours) on concrete or tile surfaces.
• Ability to sweep, mop, and maintain interior and exterior store areas and equipment, including snow removal.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to work in freezers and coolers (approximately 10°F) for up to 30 minutes at a time.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.

• Follow food preparation and sanitation guidelines; operate food service equipment; monitor safe food temperatures and record waste as required.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including fuel dispensing safety standards.
