Sales Associate-Breezeway/yard
About The Position
The Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining customer service as per company standards, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, point of sale operations, processing freight, and loss prevention in adherence to all company policies and store standards. This role involves greeting and acknowledging every customer, answering customer questions, and helping them find products. The associate will also answer incoming phone calls, maintain radio communication with all associates, and possess comprehensive knowledge of the products sold. Responsibilities include assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, store housekeeping, and performing daily cleaning tasks. The role may also require assisting in other departments as needed and performing other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and to shift priorities accordingly.
- Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be 18 year of age or older at hire date.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Working with the elements.
Nice To Haves
- Preferably familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.
- Forklift or heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Open availability preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge every customer, answer customer questions, and help customers find the location of products.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Constant radio communication with all associates.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information and merchandise promotions.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
- Perform daily cleaning – such as, but not limited to, vacuuming, replacing full trashes with new trash bags, and sweeping the department floor.
- Help in other departments when needed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
