About The Position

As a Famous Footwear Sales Associate, you provide a welcoming store environment and excellent shoe-shopping experiences that build customer loyalty. You stay informed about trends, share product knowledge, help customers find suitable styles and fits, and contribute to a positive team culture.

The role supports daily store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, inventory, and maintaining a clean, organized, shoppable store. You help drive sales and meet goals, communicate effectively with teammates, follow company policies, seek feedback, and support team training and development as needed. Other responsibilities may be performed to meet business needs, and overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships within the store.
• Ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
• Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to remain mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive customer engagement and recommend shoes and styles suited to customers’ needs.
• Stay informed about trends and share relevant knowledge with customers.
• Complete daily store tasks, including pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory.
• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop.
• Review store performance and contribute to sales goals.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with the store team and listen actively to teammates.
• Follow company policies and procedures, seek feedback, and work on professional development.
• Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, positive work environment and support teammates.
• Assist with training and development when needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed; overtime may be required to meet business needs.
