About The Position

We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Sales Associate to join our team! As a Sales Associate, you will assist customers with their hearth needs and ensure an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities may include working the register, learning hearth products, understanding customer needs and presenting solutions based on those needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service and knowledge of. No fireplace experience necessary - we will train and make sure you're comfortable in the role! This is not a transactional sales role - you will be expected to acquire product knowledge and research options to fully serve the customers' needs. The Fireplace People has been family owned and operated since 1975, offering exceptional service to families and businesses in Marmora and West Berlin, New Jersey. The company offers the largest display of wood, electric, and gas fireplaces for both indoor and outdoor displays, with over 50 gas burning and wood fireplace displays, over 25 burning gas logs, more than 35 stoves and an array of related products.

Requirements

Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
Understanding of sales techniques and best practices in customer service
Willingness to work well in a team environment
Ability to quickly and accurately work a register
Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Responsibilities

Greet each customer with a smile and provide assistance while they are shopping
Follow all safety and loss prevention procedures.
Work at a register to ring up and carry out customer sales.
Collect payments by cash and credit card
Drive sales by participating in targeted product promotions and initiatives as set forth by the company.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge in order to best help customers with their selections.
