About The Position

The Sales Associate sells glassybaby products and accessories, promotes the brand and its giving message, and provides excellent customer service in person, by phone, and by email. The role requires sustained competence and accuracy with point-of-sale operations, financial transactions, and inventory management. This is a seasonal position, with hours available at all Seattle locations. The Sales Associate maintains storefront standards, including cleaning, replenishing inventory and packaging, packaging glassybaby products, and putting out products. The role also promotes events, rentals, services, and promotions to support sales, and builds customer partnerships through communication, email sign-ups, promotions, and community outreach. Associates share information about glassybaby’s charitable giving, partners, and baby grants, and may provide backup support to event staff.

Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds, rarely lift up to 50 pounds, and use a step ladder.
Frequent standing and walking.
Ability to work in conditions impacted by weather and climate.
Ability to speak and hear well enough to conduct conversations.
Vision abilities including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work in an environment where noise is usually moderate.
Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, and frequent reaching with hands and arms below, at, and above the waistline.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience preferred.
Luxury brand sales experience preferred.
Experience with NetSuite and Shopify preferred.
High school diploma, equivalent, or enrollment preferred.

Responsibilities

Sell glassybaby products and accessories to help achieve store sales goals and promote the brand.
Maintain storefront standards through cleaning, inventory and packaging replenishment, and other tasks as needed.
Package glassybaby products, including rockers and drinkers, and put out product.
Provide clear, efficient, accurate, and amiable customer service in person and by phone.
Operate point-of-sale software accurately, including opening, closing, and reconciliation procedures; troubleshoot transaction or equipment problems and report unresolved issues in writing to the appropriate parties.
Process transfer requests.
Request and enter each customer's name and email address into the POS for every transaction.
Keep glassybaby lit at all times in stores.
Promote in-store and off-site events, rentals, services, and promotions to increase sales.
Build customer partnerships by sharing stories, signing customers up for email updates, participating in promotions, and supporting community outreach and goodwill.
Read and respond to emails when necessary.
Share glassybaby's giving message, including information about charitable giving, monthly and quarterly partners, and baby grants.
At events, acknowledge each guest, promote and sell products, provide excellent customer service, share the giving message, and represent glassybaby in an amiable, informed, and helpful manner.
Help ensure events leave customers excited about the company, product, facility, and glassybaby team.
Act as backup to events staff when needed.
Perform other assigned duties.
