About The Position

Southern Tide, LLC is seeking a Sales Associate for their retail store in Westport. The Sales Associate is responsible for assisting with daily sales and providing an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and embraces brand positioning. The role requires understanding the Southern Tide lifestyle, customer, and merchandise, creating an in-store experience consistent with company culture, and building customer relationships. The associate will contribute to a positive store atmosphere, share product knowledge, and provide recommendations. They will also participate in store meetings, work towards sales goals, maintain store appearance, provide ideas for business improvement, and manage inventory integrity.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 0-1 years of retail experience
  • Bending/stooping/kneeling required
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
  • Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently
  • Climbing ladders – occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily sales of the Southern Tide retail store.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience that drives sales and embraces brand positioning.
  • Understand the overall concept of Southern Tide, including the lifestyle, the customer, the merchandise, etc.
  • Create an exceptional in-store experience consistent with company culture.
  • Build and cultivate effective relationships with the customer.
  • Commit to deliver an optimistic, high energy, team oriented and sunny store atmosphere.
  • Learn, reference, and share current product knowledge with customers; providing prompt recommendations and professional service to enhance their shopping experience (e.g. fit, fashion wardrobing advice and suggesting add-ons).
  • Actively participate in all store-related meetings, working towards exceeding sales and service performance goals set by store management.
  • Maintain high standards of the store appearance.
  • Provide ideas to grow and improve the business.
  • Maintain the integrity of the inventory.
