About The Position

Rockingham Cooperative is seeking a hardworking and effective Sales Associate to join their team at the Stuarts Draft Ace location. This position is responsible for greeting customers, providing superior customer service, operating the cash register, handling customer complaints, and maintaining the sales area. The role also involves assisting in the warehouse with stocking and unloading merchandise, checking incoming inventory, and attending training sessions to gain product knowledge. The Sales Associate will report to the Store Manager.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least two years of experience.
Excellent communication, organizational and follow-up skills.
Proven ability to interact well with others and offer great customer service.
Ability to lift to 40lbs.
Ability to perform climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling frequently.
Understand basic computer programs and learn systems.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly professional manner.
Provide prompt and superior customer service.
Operate cash register and point of sale system.
Handle customer complaints.
Answer telephones.
Keep sales area stocked with merchandise, including pricing, dating, and displaying.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the sales area.
Assist in the warehouse with stocking, loading, and unloading merchandise.
Keep warehouse areas neat, clean, and orderly.
Check incoming merchandise against invoices or orders for shortages and damages.
Advise store or department managers of any discrepancies.
Attend store meetings and training sessions.
Read trade magazines and manufacturers’ literature to gain new product knowledge.
Assist in the coordination of deliveries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
