This role ensures excellence in customer service in the store by upholding high retail standards to ensure an in-store experience that aligns with company standards. It involves initiating conversations with all customers, building relationships to learn interests and identify products to suggest, and assisting customers in the fitting room. The Sales Associate recommends products aligned with customer needs and preferences through suggestive selling and encourages purchases. They build brand loyalty by promoting the rewards program and achieving weekly loyalty sign-up goals. Learning about new products and trends is essential to better engage customers. The role consistently achieves personal sales targets and contributes to overall store performance, providing information and advice on product performance, features, and specifications. Additionally, the Sales Associate maintains visual merchandising standards, ensures the sales floor is clean, organized, and well-stocked, and assists in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, accurately processing transactions, handling cash, and maintaining point-of-sale integrity. They follow all company and store policies, processes, and procedures, and react quickly to all customer and/or employee injuries, reporting them immediately to the manager on duty. Participation in Loss Prevention Audits and compliance with company loss prevention policies to minimize store shrink are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age or older.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  • Minimum availability of 12 hours per week including one weekend day.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members.
  • Operate office equipment and technology (i.e., cash register, computers, phones, scanners, etc.).
  • Stand and move throughout the store during scheduled shifts.
  • Walking and moving to assist customers, retrieve merchandise and recover the store.
  • Lifting and carrying, ability to maneuver and/or lift 25 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to push/pull full racks of merchandise for restocking the store.
  • Ability to reach, stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch to retrieve items from shelves, restock, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Manual labor is required occasionally to assemble displays and/or rearrange the store layout.
  • Vision to accurately read labels, assist customers, and tasks that require attention to detail.
  • Ability to use fine manipulation, and grasp with hands to sort and organize clothing, ex. place on hangers, folding, organize in color/size order.
