About The Position
We’re looking for an energetic and dependable Sales Associate to help drive sales and deliver an exceptional customer experience in our Footwear & Clothing department, with a primary emphasis on footwear. This role focuses on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and helping customers find the right footwear for work, outdoor recreation, athletics, and everyday use. The position also assists customers with apparel and accessories to provide a complete shopping experience. The right person enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and is comfortable working toward sales goals while developing strong knowledge of footwear fit, construction, features, and applications.
Requirements

- Able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.

- Interest or experience in footwear sales, fitting, or specialty retail preferred.
- Knowledge of outdoor, work, athletic, or lifestyle footwear is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate a cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Actively engage customers and seek out new sales opportunities within the department.
- Assist customers with footwear selection based on fit, comfort, intended use, and personal preference.
- Provide accurate sizing and fitting assistance to help customers find the proper footwear.
- Develop strong product knowledge across footwear brands, styles, materials, and technologies.
- Explain features such as waterproofing, insulation, cushioning, support, traction, durability, and safety features in a clear and engaging way.
- Recommend appropriate footwear for work, hiking, outdoor recreation, athletics, casual wear, and other customer needs.
- Assist customers with clothing and accessories and recommend complementary products when appropriate.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with both new and returning customers.
- Work toward and consistently meet individual and team sales goals.
- Stay informed on footwear trends, new products, seasonal needs, and competitor offerings.
- Guide customers through the full sales process, from initial engagement and fitting through final purchase.
- Maintain organized and properly stocked footwear displays, backstock, and sales areas.
- Assist with visual merchandising, product displays, inventory replenishment, and department organization.
- Collaborate with leadership on promotions, product launches, and seasonal transitions.
- Step in to support other departments or responsibilities as business needs shift.
