About The Position

That's WEIS! This position is responsible for keeping the HBC and GM departments well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. The associate will build displays to drive incremental sales, greet and assist customers with a pleasant and positive attitude, and handle requests and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Responsibilities include applying proper stocking techniques, ensuring merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs, and storing excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines. The role also involves general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Trash disposal is also a key duty. Depending on training, the associate may assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, as well as baling cardboard. Cooperation with co-workers and supervisors is essential for the smooth function of the department and store. The associate is responsible for continuously improving job performance and for the utilization of all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). The associate may also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

  • Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps the HBC and GM departments well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales.
  • Builds displays to drive incremental sales.
  • Greets and assists customers with a pleasant and positive attitude.
  • Handles requests and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, rotated and within easy customer reach.
  • Ensures merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs.
  • Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
  • Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
  • Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements.
  • Disposes of trash properly.
  • May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack if properly trained.
  • May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained.
  • Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Responsible to continuously improve job performance.
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
  • May also be called upon to assist in other departments.
