About The Position

The essential duties of a Sales Associate include, but are not limited to, providing friendly, outgoing, and professional customer service, including assisting customers and resolving concerns. The role requires remaining productive and engaged in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to multitask efficiently. Maintaining dependable attendance and punctuality is crucial. Responsibilities include accurately processing customer transactions, participating in suggestive selling, and following cash control procedures. Maintaining store cleanliness, stocking shelves, coolers, and displays, and adhering to food preparation and sanitation guidelines are also key duties. Additionally, associates must adhere to all safety procedures, including fuel dispensing safety standards.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors, and management; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, make correct change, and accurately complete shift reports.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to carry trash containers and lift contents into exterior bins; occasional use of step ladders.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, squat, reach, and perform overhead reaching as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours) on concrete or tile surfaces.
• Ability to sweep, mop, and maintain interior and exterior store areas and equipment, including snow removal.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to work in freezers and coolers (approximately 10°F) for up to 30 minutes at a time.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

• Follow food preparation and sanitation guidelines; operate food service equipment; monitor safe food temperatures and record waste as required.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including fuel dispensing safety standards.
