About The Position

Toy Joy, founded in 1987 and acquired by the Wild About Music retail family in 2017, believes that toys are not just for kids. Their motto is "Think Fun-Chew Well," encouraging shoppers of all ages to think creatively with a playful heart and savor the experience of their store and its curated products. They offer collectibles for all ages, Japanese toys, nostalgic toys, plush, STEAM, figures, books, blind boxes, Gundam, games, puzzles, playsets, costumes, and more. Toy Joy is an independently owned retail establishment striving to create a harmonious, safe place for people to work and shop. They are opening a new store at 2nd and Guadalupe called Akiba Texas, which will feature Japanese toys and figures. Toy Joy and Akiba will share staff, and employees may work between both shops.

Requirements

• Sales experience in a retail or food service environment.
• Love and knowledge of toys, books, games, collectibles and candy.
• Possess a cheery and positive disposition.
• Work and communicate well with all staff.
• Uphold respect for yourself, fellow co-workers and customers.
• Be able to lift and maneuver fixtures and product as necessary.
• Must be able to work 24-29 Hrs/Wk, flexibility with what days and open/closing shifts is beneficial.
• Scheduled hours may change weekly but will be a mix of opening/closing shifts between the hours of 10 am and 10 pm.

• We can generally work around weekly schedule needs ie: class or therapy

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all that walk in, greeting each person individually to make them feel welcome.
• Maintain a presentable and clean store.
• Continuously restock merchandise and clean when appropriate.
• Check in and merchandise product as assigned by supervisor on duty.
• Maintain safety standards and health codes and keep walkways clear.
• Have fun and be joyful!
