About The Position

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting daily sales floor operations. This non-exempt, hourly role includes weekday and weekend hours and requires an engaging, customer-focused presence on-site. The Sales Associate assists customers with product selection, answers questions, and ensures a welcoming and well-maintained shopping environment. This role requires hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations, including assisting customers in person, over the phone, and via email; maintaining product displays; restocking merchandise; and supporting team members as needed. The Sales Associate plays a key role in creating a positive customer experience and contributing to overall sales success. A strong emphasis is placed on product knowledge, teamwork, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. Requirements

Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (horticulture industry preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
Maintain a strong knowledge of products, including plants and related merchandise
Assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining attractive product displays
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
Support opening and closing procedures as needed
Promote customer loyalty programs and encourage repeat business
Handle customer inquiries, phone calls, and basic email communication
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and work areas
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a positive and productive environment
Assist with loading merchandise and supporting customers as needed
Follow company policies and safety guidelines at all times
