About The Position

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting daily sales floor operations. This non-exempt, hourly role includes weekday and weekend hours and requires an engaging, customer-focused presence on-site. The Sales Associate assists customers with product selection, answers questions, and ensures a welcoming and well-maintained shopping environment. This role requires hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations, including assisting customers in person, over the phone, and via email; maintaining product displays; restocking merchandise; and supporting team members as needed. The Sales Associate plays a key role in creating a positive customer experience and contributing to overall sales success. A strong emphasis is placed on product knowledge, teamwork, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor. Requirements

  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred (horticulture industry preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of products, including plants and related merchandise
  • Assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining attractive product displays
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
  • Support opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Promote customer loyalty programs and encourage repeat business
  • Handle customer inquiries, phone calls, and basic email communication
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and work areas
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a positive and productive environment
  • Assist with loading merchandise and supporting customers as needed
  • Follow company policies and safety guidelines at all times
