About The Position

As a Sales Associate, you are at the heart of the Pet Care Center experience. You help pet parents find the right products and solutions for their pets while creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. This role is suited to someone who enjoys helping others, learning about pet care, and working with a team in a fast-paced retail environment. The position is performed in a Pet Care Center retail environment and involves active engagement on the sales floor. It includes customer assistance and cashiering, as well as working in proximity to animals and exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals. Flexible availability is needed to support store operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requirements

Passion for animals and interest in pet care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and transactions.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in proximity to animals and tolerate exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.
Flexible availability to support operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Support the health, safety, and proper care of animals in accordance with Petco policies and standards.
Share accurate product and pet care information so customers can make informed choices.
Help maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and organized store environment and sales floor.
Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful, solution-focused service.
Create positive shopping experiences that build customer trust and loyalty.
Collaborate with and support teammates.
Assist customers in selecting products and services that meet their pets’ needs.
Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently.
Educate customers on products, services, and promotions, and support store sales and service goals.
Stock shelves, replenish merchandise, and support inventory integrity and stock accuracy.
Assist with store recovery, merchandising, promotional set-ups, and daily operational routines.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
