About The Position

The Sales Associate assists the store management team with the overall operation and performance of the store, including sales, merchandising, and daily operations. The role supports animal well-being while helping the store meet and exceed sales goals and maintain operational standards. Sales Associates strive to enhance the lives of pets and their people by providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service and helping customers choose appropriate pet food, accessories, and other products. They also help maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor and follow company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business needs.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds during a shift.
• Ability to perform duties requiring physical exertion and dexterity.
• Ability to spend most working time standing or moving around on the sales floor.
• Active listening and observation skills.
• Ability to work independently at times and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and safe shopping environment.

Nice To Haves

• Retail or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Support sales, service, and customer-experience initiatives by demonstrating the company’s selling and service models.
• Acknowledge, welcome, and thank customers in a friendly and timely manner.
• Help customers select products and answer questions so they can find suitable food and accessories for their pets.
• Follow brand standards to maintain the consistency and reputation of the store.
• Work with the store team to meet or exceed targeted sales goals and daily sales goals.
• Clean pet enclosures and ensure animals have appropriate food and water.
• Support maintenance of the fish system.
• Restock shelves and fixtures and move merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude when communicating in the workplace.
• Complete tasks and other duties assigned by store management.
• Follow company policies and procedures communicated by the Sunrise Support Office.
