About The Position

The part-time Sales Associate provides exemplary selling and customer service intended to improve store productivity and profitability. The role offers customers product recommendations and solutions, models best-practice retail execution, and focuses on sales, service, and relationship-building. The associate also supports inventory management, product sets, stocking, housekeeping, and stockroom duties as assigned. The Sales Associate helps create an inviting, easy-to-navigate shopping environment; builds and shares knowledge of products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs; and helps customers find cards and gifts suited to their needs. The role supports store operations such as replenishment and merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling Hallmark.com orders, and curbside delivery. Associates work with the corporate store team, report directly to the Store Manager, uphold company policies, and help meet store sales goals.

Requirements

If under 18, have the ability to meet work permit requirements, if applicable.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, including events, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Strong customer-focused engagement and consultative selling skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
Strong sense of urgency, flexibility, and willingness to adapt to change.
Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate.
Proficiency and comfort using a computer and other technology.
Desire and ability to learn the business.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of previous experience in specialty retail, sales, or customer service.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a warm, inviting, easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs, tailoring information to shoppers' needs.
Help customers find card and gift solutions.
Share stories and communities of caring to reinforce kindness.
Handle store operations, including product replenishment and merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling Hallmark.com orders, and curbside deliveries.
Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that encourages customers to return.
Work as a team to help meet store sales goals and ensure customers find what they need.
Uphold company policies and practices.
Perform housekeeping throughout the store, including the backroom, front of store, and bathroom.
Complete other duties or special projects as assigned.
