Seasonal Sales Associate
About The Position
TPS Group Holdings, a family of brands including The Paper Store, Uncharted and Gifts & More, aims to connect with customers through carefully chosen products, immersive shopping experiences and attentive service. Sales Associates deliver world-class service, achieve sales goals and maintain merchandising standards in a fun, fast-paced retail environment. The role reports directly to the Store Team Leader and other members of management. Sales Associates provide customers with a distinctive shopping experience using the G.U.E.S.T. service approach. They also follow company guidelines when processing transactions at the POS, prepare and stock products, recover the sales floor and clean throughout the store. At select locations, associates perform ear piercings after comprehensive training and provide a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with applicable guidelines.
Requirements
- Previous specialty retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multitask while attending to customers and remaining flexible to business needs.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Professional conduct, demeanor and attire in compliance with the company dress code.
- Ability to lift and mobilize items up to 50 lbs. using appropriate safety techniques.

Responsibilities
- Model the G.U.E.S.T. service approach and consistently deliver world-class service.
- Greet customers warmly and enthusiastically, ask open-ended questions to understand their needs, explain relevant product features and benefits, suggest additional items, and thank customers while inviting them to return.
- Represent the TPS brand and build customer loyalty through friendly, attentive and respectful service.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through respectful and ethical behavior, honest communication and professionalism.
- Maintain professional attire, demeanor and appearance in compliance with the company dress code.
- Support sales efforts and initiatives across business channels to maximize company sales.
- Capture accurate and valid customer information at the POS.
- Stay aware of current promotions and process them correctly at the POS.
- Participate enthusiastically in required training and development using available training resources.
- Prepare incoming products for the sales floor according to supervisor instructions and guidance.
- Merchandise products according to company visual guidelines and standards.
- At select locations, perform ear piercings after comprehensive training and provide a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with state, federal and CDC guidelines.
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of computers, systems and programs relevant to the position.
- Maintain store maintenance and cleanliness standards.
- Complete other tasks as directed by store management within the assigned time frame.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
