About The Position

The Sales Associate supports store operations by receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and maintaining clean, orderly merchandise displays and store areas. The role provides helpful, personalized customer service, assists customers with product questions and problem solving, and supports the store team with merchandising and routine operational tasks. The associate is expected to represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to exhibit and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and proactively help customers solve problems.
Greet customers, thank them for their visit, and provide friendly, personalized assistance throughout the store.
Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer unresolved customer complaints to management.
Maintain strong knowledge of products, store layout, and product locations.
Help receive, check in, stock, and price merchandise, and maintain back-stock levels.
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area, including end caps and advertising merchandise.
Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, and special orders.
Keep store signage current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, merchandising ideas, cost-control ideas, and sales ideas to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and help maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, and perform other duties as assigned.
