About The Position

This position is for a Sales Associate in the Trauma division of Johnson & Johnson MedTech's Orthopaedics business, located in the Alaska Metro Area, primarily Anchorage, AK. The role involves providing clinical and customer support in hospitals and during procedures, ensuring high levels of customer service, sales logistics, technical expertise, and product knowledge. Sales Associates support sales objectives, cover cases, and manage surgeon and account relationships within their territory, potentially selling the full range of portfolio, services, and solutions. The Orthopaedics division is focused on developing innovative, less invasive, and more personalized treatments. DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, offers a comprehensive orthopedics portfolio, including solutions for joint reconstruction, trauma, craniomaxillofacial, spinal surgery, and sports medicine. The DePuy Synthes Trauma portfolio specifically addresses a wide range of trauma injuries using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate Degree or Medical Certification (CST, PT, etc.) + minimum of 2 years of professional and/or related experience OR Minimum of 4 years of professional and/or related experience OR Recently transitioned from Active Military Duty
  • Ability to work in a lab/operating room environment.
  • A valid driver's license issued in the United States.
  • Ability to travel, which may include weekend and/or overnight travel.
  • Residence in or willingness to relocate to the posted territory.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, influencing, strategic thinking, problem solving, and business acumen skills.
  • Must be efficient, organized, self-motivated, positive, and pro-active.
  • Strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols and solutions is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DePuy Synthes sales organization in retaining and expanding business with existing customers, and supporting product conversions with new customers.
  • Assist in achieving established sales goals, including market share objectives within the assigned territory.
  • Apply knowledge of the sales process, product portfolio, and customer base to improve sales outcomes.
  • Guide and assist surgeons in the operating room with clinical and product knowledge.
  • Use product knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization of DePuy Synthes products.
  • Support customers by attending surgeries, ensuring proper equipment availability and functionality, and optimizing tray setups.
  • Provide Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department consultation.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance.
  • Handle customer requests and effectively manage hospital billing, including creating and closing purchase orders.
  • Share key customer, procedural, and marketplace insights with sales, clinical, marketing, and strategic account teams to enhance solutions and service levels.
  • Prepare sales reports and required documents.
  • Maintain, track, and effectively deploy equipment and assets within the assigned area, ensuring product availability.
  • Ensure all promotional materials are maintained in a presentable manner.
  • Ensure DePuy Synthes Services and offerings meet the highest quality standards.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Improve customers' understanding of DePuy Synthes' tangible and non-tangible value proposition and solutions.
  • Differentiate DPS products from competitors by providing unique customer insights.
