About The Position
Design Within Reach is seeking a Sales Assistant to join their team. This role is an entry point for individuals passionate about design and looking to enter the interior design or retail industry. The Sales Assistant will support the team and clients with daily store operations, gaining experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising. This is a support role ideal for someone early in their career eager to learn and grow in a creative, design-focused environment. The Sales Assistant will report to the Assistant Manager and collaborate with sales and visual teams.
Requirements
- Interest in design, retail, or customer service
- Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs and move items as needed
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required
- Willingness to learn systems like salesforce and design software (we’ll train you!)
Responsibilities
- Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up
- Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays
- Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies
- Learn about our products and design principles through training and team meetings
- Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide helpful, friendly service
