About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Sales Assistant in Salem, Virginia. The Sales Assistant position is responsible for performing administrative duties associated with projects and general office tasks, including but not limited to – printing, copying, scanning, processing invoices, utilizing Docusign, etc. The Assistant also performs seasonal pricing updates in the ERP, downloading and filtering reports, and communicating with service on all new inventory arrivals. Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Able to communicate and network with Carter Machinery personnel throughout the company.
  • Proficient with data entry skills and Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willing to work shifts needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sales support experience a plus.
