About The Position

This role involves working with a sales team to achieve volume and distribution objectives by selling, building displays, and ordering product. The Sales Assistant/Merchandiser will review auto-generated orders for accuracy, transmit customer orders on time, and encourage customers to use P.O.S. thematic display items. The position requires merchandising company product in assigned customer locations, including weekends, and taking direction from the assigned Sales Representative. Responsibilities include generating sales orders, merchandising, building displays, ensuring timely order transmission, stocking shelves, taking inventory, maintaining product knowledge and pricing, presenting new products, managing product rotation and freshness, acquiring additional cooler space, and resolving customer problems.

  • Must be able to complete Brew U Training modules.

Responsibilities

  • Works with sales team on daily sales call frequency to include generating sales orders, merchandising and display building.
  • Ensures that all customer orders assigned are transmitted on time using the company provided handheld unit.
  • Travels through assigned territory to merchandise and fully stock shelves at off-premise customers, which could include liquor stores, drug stores, convenience, gas, neighborhood stores and supermarkets etc.
  • Takes inventory of current stock in order to determine future reorder needs. Reviews any customer auto replenishment system to ensure proper inventory for accurate orders.
  • Maintains product knowledge and pricing. Consults with assigned sales rep and communicates on-going promotions, and any other programs that the company is promoting to customers. Quotes invoice amount prior to delivery if required.
  • Presents and sells new products to customers and sells in weekly/monthly ad information to obtain displays as assigned by the sales representative.
  • Maintains proper rotation of current stock to ensure product freshness organizes product in back rooms of assigned accounts and checks brand positioning and shelf tags in coolers to ensure cooler integrity. Maintains cooler integrity by reviewing planograms in contect locker.
  • Consults with sales represenative at off-premise accounts in order to acquire additional cooler space for J.J. Taylor products including cooler resets where allowed.
  • Persuades accounts to use P.O.S. display items to promote sale of company products under the direction of the sales representative.
  • Stocks vehicle with appropriate mix of P.O.S. for all J. J. Taylor products so needed merchandise will be available for display at accounts.
  • Completes requests for signage and puts up signs and other P.O.S. if necessary, in accounts.
  • Confers with Sales Director/Manager/Sales Rep to resolve customer problems or to discuss competitive activity.
  • Attends scheduled sales meetings with their sales representative team.
  • Responsible for successful completion of Brew U Training modules.
