Alliance Air Products, a division of Daikin Applied, is seeking a new Sales Applications Engineer with focus on our custom Commercial Air Handlers. This role will provide technical expertise including design on commercial HVAC products to the sales teams and customers. Provides strategies on how to position the product to effectively compete in the marketplace and will interact with customers to effectively demonstrate value of company product lines. Location: Southern California, onsite in the San Diego office at least once a week with some travel to the manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico and customer visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years' related experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and HVAC selection software, such as ACES.
  • Experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
  • Independent analysis and judgment skills, using prior experience and knowledge to resolve non-standard problems.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years' experience in commercial HVAC strongly preferred.
  • Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, accurate support to sales representative inquiries regarding special applications, systems, or pricing.
  • Analyze and propose modifications to current products and services to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate with customers to evaluate and understand their needs.
  • Assess processes to meet those needs.
  • Process requests for modifications or options and other information not covered by published pricing.
  • Keep informed on new products and competitive models in the marketplace.
  • Prepare technical literature for internal and field application.
  • Conduct product training to sales representatives and customers.
  • Evaluate and propose improvements of product training processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction within sales and engineering organization.
