About The Position

Crownstone Equipment is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Sales & Support Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for an outgoing professional who enjoys building customer relationships, creating sales opportunities, and helping customers find the right equipment and solutions. The Sales & Support Specialist serves as a key customer contact for the branch while supporting retail sales, business development, and day-to-day branch operations. This position combines customer service, sales, business development, and cross-department support, with responsibilities spanning Sales, Parts, Service, and Rental. The position is expected to provide exceptional customer experience, proactively develop customer relationships, conduct outbound sales and business-development activities, follow up on opportunities, and provide backup support across the branch as needed. This role is well suited for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable initiating conversations, and motivated by the opportunity to generate business and earn incentive compensation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, equipment, agriculture, construction, automotive, retail, or a related industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to initiate conversations with new and existing customers, including outbound prospecting and follow-up calls.
  • Strong sales aptitude with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and without constant supervision.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn dealership, CRM, manufacturer, and other company software systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a dealership or equipment-related environment.
  • Experience with Bobcat®, Toro®, Echo®, Stihl®, or similar construction, agricultural, or outdoor power equipment brands.
  • Experience with CRM systems and customer relationship management practices.
  • Previous experience in retail equipment sales, business development, or outbound sales.
  • Knowledge of construction, agricultural, landscaping, lawn and garden, or compact equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer promptly, professionally, and enthusiastically and provide a welcoming first point of contact for the branch.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience during every customer interaction and represent Crownstone Equipment professionally.
  • Identify customer needs and connect customers with the appropriate Sales, Parts, Service, or Rental team member.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and provide appropriate follow-up.
  • Assist customers in identifying equipment, products, and services that meet their needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and CRM documentation.
  • Sell assigned retail product lines, including lawn and garden equipment, compact tractors, handheld equipment, attachments, implements, and related products.
  • Assist customers throughout the sales process, from initial inquiry through purchase completion.
  • Prepare, track, and follow up on retail sales quotes and opportunities.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment, products, and solutions.
  • Complete assigned list of outbound business development leads each week.
  • Proactively contact new, existing, inactive, and prospective customers to identify sales and business development opportunities.
  • Follow up on previous quotes, inactive customers, lost opportunities, and other assigned leads.
  • Generate qualified leads for Product Specialists and Outside Sales Representatives.
  • Accurately document customer interactions, leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities in the CRM.
  • Track personal retail sales, qualified lead referrals, and new customer acquisitions eligible for incentive compensation.
  • Submit monthly incentive reports in accordance with Crownstone Equipment sales compensation procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Provide backup support for the Sales, Parts, Service, and Rental departments as business needs require.
  • Assist with customer outreach and follow-up activities for Parts and Rental during slower business periods.
  • Assist with customer pickups, deliveries, paperwork, and other general branch operations.
  • Assist with reinforcing outbound business development and customer follow-up expectations with Parts and Rental counter personnel as directed by the Branch Manager.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes across Sales, Parts, Service, and Rental.
  • Support branch events, equipment demonstrations, promotional activities, and other customer engagement initiatives.
  • Complete required manufacturer and company training.
  • Attend department meetings, training sessions, and other required company activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
