About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is hiring a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee in Knoxville, Tennessee. The role trains the employee to drive a Class B box truck, provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. Safety-Kleen pays for the employee to obtain a CDL. The posted recruiting pay range is $22.00–$23.00 per hour. The position emphasizes health and safety, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and customer service.

Requirements

Obtain a Class B CDL within 180 days of employment; the company pays for the training.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining the CDL B.
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience, including Class C or non-CDL experience.

Responsibilities

Make health and safety the top priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes.
Complete scheduled daily services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon solution drums at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate and collect customer leads for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Observe company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
