Local Class B Route Driver

About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee) in Lexington, South Carolina. The role trains the employee to drive a Class B box truck and provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. The position supports Clean Harbors’ environmental, energy, and industrial services operations.

Requirements

Class A or Class B CDL.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining a Class B CDL.
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required by position.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience, including Class C or non-CDL experience.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by following safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely.
Complete scheduled daily services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate and collect customer leads for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
