About The Position

Federated Co-ops, Inc. has a great opportunity for a Sales & Parts Lead at our Country Store location in Mora, MN. This position will help optimize store efficiencies, promote outstanding customer service, and grow location profitability. This is a HANDS-ON “lead by example" position with the potential for ongoing growth within the company.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft (Word/Excel) and retail/order entry systems is required.
  • Commit to extended work hours when necessary to reach goals.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Experience working closely with and motivating staff.
  • Class D Driver’s License.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to drive forklift and company vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years previous retail work experience preferred.
  • Country Store experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate).
  • Knowledge of power equipment sales, parts and service preferred.
  • Small engine experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of feed and animal companion products preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales growth for all power equipment, ensuring all interested customers receive high-quality knowledgeable support from team members.
  • Promote and process Cub Cadet (Sheffield / TD) Financing with customers.
  • Oversee Feed and Companion Animal products: Promote and provide knowledgeable support to customers.
  • Ring up customers, lift, carry and load purchases into customer’s vehicle (up to 50 lbs.) multiple times per day.
  • Ascertains make, year and type of part needed, inspects worn, damaged, or defective part to determine replacement required, or advise customer of part needed according to description of malfunction.
  • Read catalog or computer for replacement part stock number and price.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
  • Verify information on shipment against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Operate forklift or hand truck to move shipments from Receiving to Sales area.
  • Supports product ordering and maintenance including shelf stock, signs, tags, and promotional material.
  • Evaluate product demand and utilization to replace or replenish stock and optimize floor space.
  • Orders, stocks merchandise and inventory and ensure invoice processing.
  • Support Store management in Staff supervision, Store Operation, and Open/Closing Duties.
  • Support employee training and engagement in Sales work, taking inventory, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, and projecting Sales and Inventory needs.
  • Encourage feedback and support staff by developing and empowering them to improve productivity.
  • Safely fill propane tanks once certified (training provided).
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of units sold and/or serviced using company vehicles.
  • Light service duties include but are not limited to setups.
  • Organize work order for central repair.
