About The Position

This role involves performing general office duties to support the Sales & Marketing department, including tasks like filing, sending emails, typing, faxing, and copying. The coordinator will prepare sales-related documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders throughout the sales process. A key aspect of the role is promoting brand awareness both internally and externally, and assembling information packages with materials like brochures and promotional items. The position requires using sales techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty to Marriott. Responsibilities also include entering, retrieving, reconciling, and verifying information (e.g., commissions, leads, third parties) in sales software, and serving as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries via phone and email. Furthermore, the role demands adherence to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and protecting company assets. It involves welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their needs, and expressing genuine appreciation. Effective communication is essential, requiring clear and professional language, accurate written documentation, and appropriate telephone etiquette. The coordinator must develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns, while complying with quality assurance standards. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
