About The Position

New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Sales Analyst to act as a strategic analytics partner to the new customer and sales organization, translating data into actionable insights that drive customer acquisition, margin optimization, and customer satisfaction. Design and evolve sales and marketing dashboards, reporting, and performance metrics to support agile decision making. Proactively analyze customer behavior and market trends to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy. Manage sales commission reporting and validation, coordinating with payroll to ensure accuracy, transparency, and alignment with sales performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • At least four years’ experience in a sales operations or business analyst role is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large data sets in Excel to generate actionable insights
  • Experience developing and tracking performance metrics and reporting
  • Conduct analysis of affiliate company data to support business decisions
  • Identify trends and develop projections to inform strategic planning
  • Design and maintain reporting dashboards for ongoing business visibility

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and operational support to the sales new business function, enabling productivity, efficiency, and consistent customer experience outcomes.
  • Design, develop, and maintain weekly and monthly sales and marketing performance dashboards and reports, delivering insights that support core market growth and new customer acquisition.
  • Analyze residential and commercial customer additions, conversions, and margin impacts to inform short- and long-term forecasting, planning, and growth strategy.
  • Ensure analytical methodologies and reporting conform to regulatory requirements related to distribution revenue, margin factors, and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate and manage the Employee Sales Lead Program, including performance tracking, reporting, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Own the intake, tracking, and distribution of prospect and sales inquiries from email and web channels, ensuring data accuracy, visibility, and timely routing to sales teams.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance reporting across Sales Lead Tracking, customer information, and Work Order systems to improve pipeline visibility, operational transparency, and sales effectiveness.
  • Leverage advanced proficiency in Power BI to develop dashboards, automate reporting, and deliver actionable analytics; utilize Maximo to support work order, operational, and system driven reporting needs.
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop actionable analytics and reporting tools that enable sales staff to increase revenue, improve close rates, and accelerate customer additions.
  • Manage and validate monthly sales commission reporting, ensuring accurate calculations, reconciliation, and timely submission to Payroll.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Payroll to reconcile new customer additions, commission outputs, and related financial reporting.
  • Prepare detailed reconciliation documentation and provide required sign off to support financial accuracy, governance, and audit readiness.
