About The Position

Central Plains Co-op is seeking a full-time Sales Agronomist for their Agro Centre in Rosetown, SK. Central Plains Co-op is a member-owned multi-million-dollar retail business operating in Rosetown and surrounding areas, part of the Co-operative Retailing System. The company focuses on returning profits to its members and investing in sustainable growth within local economies, serving communities like Eston, Plenty, Landis, Perdue, Harris, and Rosetown with products and services for individuals and communities. The Agronomist's role involves acquiring knowledge and experience to build credibility and foster ongoing, profitable sales relationships with customers. This position contributes to the overall success of the Agro team by supporting and cross-promoting Farm & Ranch and Petroleum services and products. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys field work, interacting with producers, and developing a successful client base, seeing direct results through customer success and sales growth. The individual will become a trusted agronomic advisor, developing long-term customer relationships and collaborating with the Agro team to cross-promote various products and services.

Requirements

  • A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture
  • 3–6 years of experience in ag sales and/or agronomy
  • Strong relationship-building and sales skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to agronomic challenges
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Pesticide Applicator’s License, WHMIS, TDG, and Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • CCA Certification

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with customers
  • Building and managing a customer base through proactive outreach and follow-up
  • Executing sales plans aligned with retail goals and inventory strategies
  • Growing sales and margins across seed, fertilizer, and crop protection products
  • Providing timely crop scouting and agronomic recommendations that support product and service sales
  • Promoting integrated agronomy solutions, including drone scouting, custom application, and soil sampling
  • Supporting customer events, grower meetings, crop tours, and product demonstrations
  • Cross-selling Farm & Ranch and Petroleum products and services
  • Resolving customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
