About The Position

Upper Lakes Foods is seeking a Full Time Sales Account Representative/Executive to join their team in the Hibbing, MN area. This role involves working outside the office and contributing to the company's food manufacturing mission. The position is dynamic, requiring problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach. The starting pay is $55,000 per year, with additional compensation based on experience. Upper Lakes Foods is the largest independent, wholesale food distributor in Minnesota, serving foodservice operators such as independent restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools, and national and regional foodservice chain accounts with a strong focus on customer service. Their mission is to build value for each customer, employee, supplier, and community by providing the best products, people, and ideas.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to master the Serve Safe food handling certification within the first 90 days.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Comfort using basic office equipment.
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude to complete projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility under pressure.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to engage meaningfully with others.
  • Ability to support food industry innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Fostering strong, long-term relationships with both current and prospective customers.
  • Engaging in dynamic outbound sales efforts, including scheduled calls, cold outreach, and on-site visits.
  • Presenting tailored product solutions that highlight the company's value.
  • Supporting customers with product demonstrations, menu planning, and hands-on training.
  • Engaging in customer events, food shows, and promotional activities.
  • Reviewing sales reports and customer activity to optimize performance.
  • Coordinating with logistics to ensure smooth delivery schedules.
  • Embracing continuous learning.
  • Collaborating with suppliers for growth opportunities.
  • Actively representing Upper Lakes Foods in community outreach.
  • Building lasting relationships both within the company and the local community.
