Representing KCUR and Classical KC, this role involves leveraging expertise in pursuing sales opportunities, advertising agencies, and direct client relationships. The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for sourcing and closing new sponsors, increasing revenue from existing accounts, and working an account list to continuously execute sales activity. This includes participating in sales-related activities such as customer sales visits and Zoom calls, as well as qualifying, analyzing, developing, and proposing marketing solutions, broadcast and digital schedules, and programming to meet sponsor needs. Building and maintaining positive relationships with sponsors and colleagues, and tracking/managing activity in the CRM are also key aspects of the role. A typical day involves engaging with and managing existing accounts, proposing and selling sponsorship schedules, programs, and events to build relationships, achieve sales goals, and serve as a media consultant. The role also involves growing the account list by prospecting and engaging with new clients, using familiarity with the local market media and competitor dynamics to distinguish KCUR and Classical KC as a key marketing resource. Collaboration with team members, including a Business Development Specialist for proposal crafting and utilizing best-in-class materials supported by audience analytics for proof of performance, is expected. The role ensures sponsor messages air without issue and contributes to fueling independent media in the Kansas City region.
