About The Position

WNCN/CBS 17 is seeking a hungry, high-energy Multi-Platform Account Executive to join their team. This role involves selling TV and digital marketing solutions to local and regional businesses, building relationships with clients and agencies, and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to optimization. The ideal candidate will be competitive, organized, and eager to develop new business in non-traditional categories. This position offers a career path in modern media and marketing within Nexstar Media Group, a leading local TV and media company.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, advertising, media, marketing, or business development.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to decision-makers.
  • Competitive, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Strategic thinking ability to sell solutions, not just spots.
  • Comfortable using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and CRM systems.
  • Team-first attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience selling CTV/streaming, programmatic, paid social, or paid search.

Nice To Haves

  • TV/digital experience is a plus.
  • Agency-side experience or experience managing agency relationships.
  • Local market knowledge in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill/Cary/Fayetteville and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities

  • Sell TV + digital marketing solutions (broadcast, streaming/CTV, programmatic, paid social, paid search, etc.).
  • Build relationships with direct clients and agencies.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, pitch, close, launch, optimize, recap.
  • Create and execute results-driven marketing campaigns with support from digital, marketing, and production teams.
  • Prospect consistently and develop new revenue in non-traditional categories.
  • Present campaigns confidently using insights and performance expectations.
  • Negotiate and structure agreements to meet client goals and station revenue targets.
  • Track activity and pipeline in CRM, forecast accurately, and manage deadlines.
  • Stay current with media industry trends (streaming, creators, measurement, AI tools).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, digital, creative services, traffic, finance) to ensure smooth campaign launches and strong results.
