About The Position

The Payroll Supervisor will work within the Payroll department and will report to the Payroll Manager. They will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the two Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the processing high volume bi-weekly payroll for both domestic and international employees using JD Edwards software. This is an in-house, full-cycle, multi-state, and international payroll position for confidential payroll. This position will be fully in-office. The Payroll Supervisor will communicate with employees both in person, on the phone and electronically. International communication may require availability during off-hours.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least five (5) years’ working experience with non-union full cycle payroll required.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
  • Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results.
  • Must be able to plan and organize work.
  • Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have a high level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkers.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • In house Payroll Processing experience preferred
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
  • Working knowledge in JD Edwards or similar ERP One platform preferred.
  • Experience processing multi-state and international payroll preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Tax compliance, and set up
  • Pay period and quarter end tax balancing
  • Reporting of Quarterly SUI for all companies
  • Assist with Workers Comp reporting
  • Assist with the processing of biweekly multistate confidential payroll for both domestic and overseas payrolls.
  • Oversee the set up of all New Hires in Oracle and E1
  • Oversee termination process and compliance
  • Coordinate with our third-party tax source to ensure compliance with US regulations and overseas tax requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of process procedures
  • General Employee filing and record keeping
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Support the month-end closing for all payroll related accounts to ensure quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and other statutory reporting requirements for domestic and international payroll can be processed to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy of employee benefit contributions, fringe benefits, garnishments, and other employee deductions.
  • Other duties as assigned by Payroll Manager
  • Assist in the Research of payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Receive and respond to payroll and payroll related inquiries from current and former employees.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
