SAFETY TECHNICIAN - Austin Industrial - Orange, TX
About The Position
Austin Industrial is seeking a Safety Technician to execute the site safety program on an assigned project. This role involves educating and training project staff in safety requirements and best practices for incident prevention, ensuring compliance with company and customer safety policies. The majority of the time will be spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging with craft employee-owners. The Safety Technician will also assist project supervision in resolving safety problems and issues, and may fill in for the site HSE manager during absences. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States, as Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of maintenance and construction experience.
- Must pass DISA drug screen and DISA Background, as a condition of employment.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.

Responsibilities
- Execute the site safety program on an assigned project.
- Educate and train Austin project staff in safety requirements and best practices in incident prevention.
- Ensure compliance with company and customer safety policies.
- Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
- Assist in creating accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents.
- Assist in staff safety training and subcontractor development.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner with the customer and subcontractors.
- Create and facilitate safety trainings and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies and expectations.
- Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field.
- Fill in for site HSE manager during absences.
