Safety Technician 3rd shift

About The Position

The Safety Technician assists with all facets of safety, health, security, and regulatory compliance for employees, temporary workers, and contractors. The role supports the facility and other national and international sites, and helps ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Approximately 70% of the time is spent auditing safety programs inside the plant. Requirements

Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to train associates at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Ability to understand and respond to a diverse population.
Strong multitasking skills.
Computer literacy, including specialized databases and programs used to manage safety and security at the site.
High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or vocational education.
Two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Implement and coordinate programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.
Conduct daily audits to identify and assess conditions that could cause accidents or financial losses.
Enforce accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs and incorporate them into operational policies.
Assist department managers with implementing safety activities to maintain a safe plant.
Assist with the quality system.
Compile statistical data related to occupational exposure factors, illnesses, and accidents, and prepare reports for relevant personnel.
Help establish management accountability for safety and health issues within departments and facilities.
Standardize safety processes, policies, and reports.
Conduct safety and health training for supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
