Summary In this role, you will provide technical oversight of the project’s ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities. You will assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with project safety requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during project execution. You will work directly with other project-level functions (e.g., engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, document controls) to assist them in addressing the applicable ES&H requirements in their work activities and conduct daily site surveillance to verify adequate use of PPE, routine equipment inspections, project ES&H initiatives. It is also expected that you will perform any administrative duties to assist in daily operations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and systematic professional with a knack for managing business operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience related to environmental, health, or science related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 required
  • Can perform root cause analysis as needed for incident investigations
  • Conducts Project Contractor Orientation
  • Leads and implements Project ESH Audits, monitoring completion of specified corrective actions
  • Coaches Contractor Project and Safety Team on the OUSA Processes and expectations
  • Knowledge of safety programs/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of national safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ regulatory requirements and responsibilities, industry standards/current practices for ES&H, and management practices for minimizing potential ES&H risks during project execution.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risks and the mechanisms to mitigate them.
  • Experience in ES&H assessments/inspection during construction and commissioning phase
  • Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office management software.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strict professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all company levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with HR practices, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical apprenticeship preferred
  • OSHA 30 or higher

Responsibilities

  • Assists safety manager, project manager and others in enforcing and adhering to organizational policies for health, safety, and risk management.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities
  • Will work to develop and maintain ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions
  • Detects, eliminates and controls hazardous conditions on a project.
  • Helps identify and coordinate any unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel
  • Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues
  • Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention
  • Assists with incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports
  • Recommends and implements improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential
  • Participates in and supports employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs
  • Develop and supports ES&H recognition programs
  • Research issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice
  • Provides support to ES&H field and office personnel
  • Develop and conduct training courses related to client sites and understand client safety expectations
  • Tracks, documents and catalogs all safety metrics KPI's using contract management accounts including ISNetworld, KGC & ACC, and DISA.
