About The Position

Join a contractor supporting the new construction of two student housing buildings in Tampa, Florida. This opportunity provides hands-on safety oversight with a specialized focus on crane operations, rigging activities, and high-risk construction work throughout a multi-year project.

Requirements

OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification
Current First Aid/CPR Certification
Minimum 2+ years of crane safety experience
Experience supporting active commercial construction projects
Knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and lift planning
Strong field safety presence and hazard recognition skills

Nice To Haves

NCCCO Rigging Certification
Crane Institute of America Certification or equivalent
Crawler Crane Experience
Procore Proficiency
Commercial or multi-story building construction experience
CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for construction and crane-related operations
Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
Monitor crane activities, rigging operations, material handling, and critical lifts
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
Review lift plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and pre-task planning activities
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
