About The Position

The Team Leader supports the efficient operation of the department by coordinating daily tasks, ensuring production goals are met, and assisting team members with troubleshooting and problem-solving. The Team Leader acts as a key point of contact for the team, promoting safety, quality, and productivity within the department.

Requirements

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information and engage with employees at all levels.
Ability to mentor and guide team members without direct supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively.
Proficiency with computers, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and with multiple team members.
Ability to properly assess and prioritize tasks.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier objects with assistance.
Ability to climb ladders or stairs and perform tasks at heights when necessary.
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and organize daily work assignments to align with production schedules and priorities.
Provide on-the-floor support to team members by addressing questions, troubleshooting equipment or process concerns, and escalating issues as needed.
Monitor product quality and process consistency to ensure specifications and standards are maintained.
Promote adherence to all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and other departments to share updates, resolve issues, and maintain smooth production flow.
Assist in onboarding and training new team members on job duties, safety expectations, and department procedures.
Conduct regular checks of the work area to ensure it remains organized, clean, and compliant with safety guidelines.
Track and report key production data such as throughput, downtime, and quality metrics to support continuous improvement efforts.
Encourage teamwork, accountability, and alignment with company values and performance expectations.
Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
Demonstrates the cognitive, language, reasoning, and mathematical abilities consistent with the expectations of this role.
