About The Position

The Team Leader supports the efficient operation of the department by coordinating daily tasks, ensuring production goals are met, and assisting team members with troubleshooting and problem-solving. The Team Leader acts as a key point of contact for the team, promoting safety, quality, and productivity within the department.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information and engage with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members without direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency with computers, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple team members.
  • Ability to properly assess and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier objects with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs and perform tasks at heights when necessary.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and organize daily work assignments to align with production schedules and priorities.
  • Provide on-the-floor support to team members by addressing questions, troubleshooting equipment or process concerns, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Monitor product quality and process consistency to ensure specifications and standards are maintained.
  • Promote adherence to all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and other departments to share updates, resolve issues, and maintain smooth production flow.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members on job duties, safety expectations, and department procedures.
  • Conduct regular checks of the work area to ensure it remains organized, clean, and compliant with safety guidelines.
  • Track and report key production data such as throughput, downtime, and quality metrics to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Encourage teamwork, accountability, and alignment with company values and performance expectations.
  • Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrates the cognitive, language, reasoning, and mathematical abilities consistent with the expectations of this role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
