About The Position

The Facilities Sustainability & Safety role plays a key part in helping ensure the safety and security of our employees, customers, and visitors across Lands’ End facilities and grounds. This position supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and security policies, procedures, and programs aimed at reducing workplace risks, preventing injuries, and promoting a safe, healthy environment for all. In addition, the role supports our sustainability efforts by collecting and managing greenhouse gas (GHG) data across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and helping drive environmental initiatives within our facilities. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, it contributes to strategies that improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize our overall environmental footprint, while encouraging environmentally responsible practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in safety, environmental, sustainability, facilities, manufacturing, distribution, or related operations.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, environmental regulations, sustainability principles, and safety management practices.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, environmental assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with safety management systems, incident reporting tools, environmental reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and promote a strong culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel between company locations for inspections, audits, training, and project activities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Ability to adhere to Lands’ End attendance expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, audits, and workplace evaluations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support compliance efforts related to OSHA, EPA, ADA, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver safety training programs on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Conduct and coordinate training for powered industrial trucks, cranes, CPR/First Aid, and other required safety programs.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety concerns to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, corrective actions, training activities, and regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in safety committees and support 5S audits and workplace organization initiatives.
  • Partner with managers, supervisors, contractors, suppliers, and external agencies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with established safety requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees regarding safety concerns, program requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Support the development and implementation of facility sustainability goals, strategies, and action plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Conduct assessments of facility operations to identify opportunities for energy conservation, waste reduction, water conservation, and resource efficiency.
  • Collect, analyze, and report sustainability data, including energy consumption, waste diversion, recycling, water usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and other key performance indicators.
  • Assist with sustainability projects such as energy efficiency improvements, waste reduction initiatives, recycling programs, renewable energy efforts, and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to integrate sustainability considerations into operational decision-making.
  • Support employee engagement and awareness programs focused on sustainable workplace behaviors and environmental stewardship.
  • Participate in sustainability reporting, certification programs, greenhouse gas reporting efforts, and data collection activities.
  • Stay informed of emerging safety, environmental, and sustainability regulations, technologies, and best practices, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
