About The Position

KCC is seeking a driven individual with a passion for safety to help drive KCC towards world class safety performance on 2nd shift. Shift time will be from 2:00 PM–11:00 PM Monday thru Friday with some variances according to the production schedule. The Safety Specialist-2nd shift will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS systems.

Requirements

1-5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting or construction setting.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health.
Must have experience working in a team environment.
Ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.

Root cause investigation skills

Responsibilities

Educate and communicate KCC safety policies/procedures.
Participate in the development of short and long-term safety goals.
Present training modules for small and large groups.
Participate in safety committees to drive shop floor safety presence.
Facilitate root cause investigations for all reported incidents, no matter how minor, in unison with shop floor leadership.
Complete all required inspections and drive closure to findings.
Complete site hazard analysis through the JSA program.
Assist with proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Develop relationships with professional organizations and vendors.
Participate in government agency inspections.
Work off shift hours and respond to calls when needed.
Perform other tasks as directed by the EHS Manager.
