The Safety Specialist will be responsible for auditing, training, ensuring compliance, conducting investigations, reporting, working with maintenance to ensure follow-up items are corrected, and performing analysis. This role supports the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment department and reports to the VP of HSSE. The position is classified as non-exempt and is considered safety-sensitive. The Safety Specialist will participate in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures, perform safety inspections, identify workplace hazards, and report on findings. They will also participate in and support safety training programs, investigate accidents and near misses, and ensure organizational compliance with safety regulations. Analysis of safety data to identify trends and contribute to program improvements is a key responsibility. The role involves enforcing procedures, troubleshooting issues, and participating in the investigation of workers' compensation claims. Collaboration with maintenance, safety personnel, and management is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned. The work environment is fast-paced with short deadlines and critical situations, including office, light industrial, and warehouse settings with exposure to various environmental conditions. Regular travel to LLGI locations and potentially nationwide for training is required.
