This position is for a Safety Specialist on the 2nd shift, located in Tremonton, UT. The Safety Specialist will serve as a resource for internal and external customers regarding Health & Safety needs, provide medical support for the facility, and offer administrative support to the Safety Team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related role/field.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is beneficial.
  • Basic computer skills including Gmail/Google Suite products.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Must be dependable and be able to work well with others.
  • Requires good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication is necessary.
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.
  • Must practice good personal hygiene.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified CPR trainer is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily activities to ensure a safe work environment, through training, audits, inspections, and enforcement.
  • Facilitate safety training and participate and/or lead incident investigations.
  • Assist with safety projects including but not limited to lockout/tagout, job safety analysis, pre start-up safety reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with Human Resources, management and team members to promote a safety first culture.
  • Perform internal administrative duties such as scheduling, training, and program management as needed.
  • Collect and provide data on safety statistics and trends to the safety manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Partner with all departments of the organization.
  • Responsible for administering first aid and cpr as needed.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.
