About The Position

Perma-Pipe in Lebanon, TN is hiring a Safety Specialist! We’re seeking a Safety Specialist to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs within a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with operations, supervisors, and employees to promote a safe workplace, identify hazards, support compliance initiatives, and foster a proactive safety culture. The ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented safety professional with strong communication skills, a passion for employee engagement, and a desire to grow their knowledge and experience in occupational health and safety. The is a US based role situated in Lebanon, TN and is not a remote or hybrid position. Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems serving the oil & gas, district heating and cooling, and industrial markets. Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (strongly preferred).
  • First Aid / CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience participating in incident investigations, audits, or safety committees.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead training sessions and conduct incident investigations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective documentation and reporting abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Occupational health experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with pipe manufacturing or metal fabrication processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of site HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of safety programs and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, and workplace assessments.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and hazards.
  • Partner with operations to implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, and hazard mitigation activities.
  • Promote proactive reporting of near misses, hazards, and safety concerns.
  • Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives, observations, and meetings.
  • Reinforce compliance with Life Saving Commitments, site procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the production floor to coach and support employees.
  • Build strong working relationships with employees and supervisors.
  • Support new hire safety orientation and onboarding.
  • Assist in delivering safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
  • Assist with investigations of incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage.
  • Collect data, conduct interviews, and document findings.
  • Support root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate incident records and documentation.
