Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in food manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and food safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Other applicable safety certifications or trainings such as, OSHA 30, ASP, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Support the development of job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
  • Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training for employees and contractors.
  • Promote safety awareness through signage, campaigns, and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain training records and ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Respond to workplace incidents and near-misses, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Track and analyze safety data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and food industry safety standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and documentation.
  • Stay informed on changes in safety regulations and best practices.
  • Work closely with HR, operations, and maintenance teams to support safe work practices.
  • Engage employees in safety initiatives and encourage proactive hazard reporting.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
