POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Officer develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive safety program throughout Equitas Health. The Safety Officer is responsible for managing hazardous communication, hazardous waste disposal, training coordination of CPR/First Aid and de-escalation training, personal protective equipment (PPE), monitoring exposures, safety activities, product corrections and recalls, and staying up-to-date on applicable laws and regulations. The Safety Officer will partner with the General Counsel & Compliance Officer, Senior Compliance Specialist, Chief Healthcare Operations Officer, Senior Leaders, and Directors in developing, implementing, and managing the safety operations of the organization. This position requires considerable initiative, independent judgment, and collaborative skills in managing the safety program and interacting with employees across all levels of the organization. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, exercising professional judgment; traveling, driving, or having reliable transportation; written communication; relationship building; utilizing a computer for typing and research; attending meetings, and presenting to small groups.
